So how do you become a spy?
Well the answer is it depends on what country your from, All countries have spies and not only just the Government. There are some agencies who offer these kinds of services like Pathfinder Security Service they usually guard oil rigs or Blackwater Worldwide there troops are currently deployed in Afghanistan. The companies I mentioned are private military that has spies.
Being a spy is not glorious as you think, its boring, its dangerous and people don't usually know this because of James Bond movies. And unlike James Bond real spies avoid confrontations as much as possible. They usually just blend in not wanting to attract attention to themselves.
There objectives are usually infiltrate, info gathering and sometimes stealing... not hand to hand combat where you can beat up 5 highly trained Iranian Operatives.
You can join the CIA which is freaken hard to do. But here are the steps anyway.
1. Be a US citizen if you already are good at least under 36 years old.
2. Your records must be clean, that means no police that you stole a car. In the background check having friends and relatives that has a clean record is a plus. Since they are also investigated
3. Go to college. the CIA requires at least a 3.0 GPA in a scale 4, there is no specific course but being bachelor of science is a plus. Knowing basic statistics and economics is also great. Having a psychology course or computer course is in demand.
4. Learn at least 2 different language, preferably Arabic or Chinese since not a lot speak these languages and they are military hot spots. Hint you won't just have to learn it you must have high proficiency with the language.
5. Believe it or not if you go to CIA's website they have job list.
6. When you apply their will be a medical exam, psychological and physical exam pass it.
7. Wait for 6 weeks, your application will reviewed. Don't call them about your application. Your just gonna piss the people on the office.
8.When you pass all that you will be trained as Junior Officer in Arlington, Virginia (Camp Peary) . The training will be classified and the best will be selected for the position. During this time you will not have an access to the main office. The training will last for 3 years.
If you pass good for you...
Here is another one if your a bit delinquent and has not time for college
1. Join the army at a young age, the younger the better. PFT, training records and on field performance are being reviewed if you get noticed, you will be called upon. Ones their a written, physical and mental exam will be given. Along with others who made the it. It will be from different branches of the government mostly military or the marines.
2. You must at least have an I.Q of 135 and a photographic memory. One exam that is given is that you will be shown two pictures. Picture A and B. You will be given 5 seconds to see both.
Then you must be able to tell the difference between the two.
3. It doesn't matter if you had a few crimes when you were a youngster, having a broken chaotic family is a plus.
If you want to be a spy I suggest you think about it over and over again, since your paycheck won't be that much to risk yourself getting killed.
There are also other American Government agencies like Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA),National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), National Security Agency (NSA).
I'm not really sure really why people want to be a spy. Its dangerous at the same time boring. Being a spy is like waiting in line in an office for an appointment for 24 hours, reading magazines just to pass time and every ones in a while you must have a heads up. That there is someone trying to kill you.
